On our third week Sir Oli told us about COMPUTING INDUSTRY....
*There exists a high demand for computing professionals, 300,000 annually..
In the Philippines, companies are not advertising at all.. because they select only few and the best ones....

What exactly do ICTM students are capable of doing?!

-Analyze Organizational Situations
-Conceptualize and Design Technological Solutions
-Plan the Execution of the Technical Solution
-Execute the Project
-Train the users of the Solution
-Launch the Solution to the Organization
-Perform Maintenance of the Solution

These are the NON TECHNICAL SKILLS:

-Analytical
-Critical Thinker
-Problem-Solution Thinker
-Team-Attitude
-Independent Worker
-Resourceful
-Good Communicator
-Socially Responsible and Ethical IT Professional
-Leadership

siR oLI said that presidents of companies are critical thinkers, think outside the box... We should think like an ICTM professionals....Somehow, we think deeper than others.. hahah!!! He told us about the Nokia, before it was a furnishing company, but they thought that the trees would be gone, so they thought to shift into a mobile business and it was a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the fourth week...
first meeting,.
Sir Oli gave a surprise test...
Ooh no!! heheh.. the test was quite difficult for those who didn't study.. like me!!!!!
fortunately, it will not be recorded.. YeZz!!

for the second day, Sir asks us to interview a Operational Manger & Tactical Manger.. and what are their tasks and how they plan.... and we need to do it in power point presentation and if we were picked, we need to present in front.. Waah.. Hahah..The one we interview said that theres no different between the two.. In their company some do the two jobs.... MOre details on our presentation, maybe next time!!! hahah....

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY jobs!!!!!!!!

For our assignment this week we were ask to look for jobs related to Information Technology... And we need to make a list of some skills, Technical, Non - Technical and Responsibilities.. We should learn to improve our skills as well as learn new skills, because we will need it in the future!!!!!!!!

A. What are the technical skills being demanded of ICTM Professionals today????
In the chart that i did, some of the highest are SQL, Visual Basic and C / C + +

B. What are the non-technical skills that I need to develop now?

A very important skill is communication. Communicating is very important in all. I can speak, English, Filipino and Chinese. But i know i still need to improve those. In Multi Tasking, we should start though we are still young

C. How do I plan to develop these skills myself?
Maybe by practicing, and I'm willing to learn those things... And I'll do my best!!!!!!!!...

My FiRsT aNd SeCoNd WeEk In InTrIcT!!!!

Our first day, I was late.. Hahah.. I have never been l8 in my past school days, it was my first time and in my new school... Not a very good start!!!And Sir Oli was just discusting about the rules and orienting. My impression to our teacher that he is astig!! Yez!!!! Hahah.... The way he communicate with us is some how different with the others. And he's fun and makulit too....Wahahah..... And were not bored, he see to it that we are listening and enjoying at the same time.. Nyc d b!!!!!

Our second day he introduced to us the world of Google!!!!!!!.... Everything you want is already in GOOGLE.... Gmail, Calendar, Documents, Groups and many more.... Imagine that, in gmail, you can store many things. In calendar your schedules your to do list, it can even text you in your phone if you have an appointment. i'm also amazed in google document, where in you can store thre all the assignments and the things you did, you don't have to save it in the computer itself so it won't be hard for you to find those files... Ha you don't know that, do you?! Heheh...

On our second week, Sir Oli discussed Productivity.. What is productivity???? Productivity is the value created by the task in less time.. Applying it to technology, technology makes our life easier...agree?! For example, in our household chores.. if we want to wash clothes, we will use washing machine, and then leave it and do other things.. We can do all the tasks in less time....

And he let us see the power of technology, the digital age.. We watched some videos about it. Their visions on the new technologies..What I LOVE the most is the Microsoft Surface ...What I felt was love at first sight!!! Hahahahaha... It was really amazing, specially when sending pictures using that table, so easy.. How I wish i have that too!!!!!!!!

And he also discussed what an ICTM Professionals do..What are the things instored for us after we graduate.. And what are the difference between an CS students and ICTM students... And Sir Oli".... kung walang CS walang gagawin ang ICT at kung walang ICT ung mga gnawa ng CS ay no use"... Its a matter of working together!!!!....
